My name is Jordyn Odagwe, and I am recent graduate from the University of St. Thomas, where I majored in Management Marketing and minored in Justice and Peace studies. As a marketing major and peace studies minor, I am passionate about incorporating an ethical lens into my marketing practices. I am currently working in the account management department for Wunderman Thompson specifically on Optum and UHC Government website development where I am responsible for managing communications between the clients and internal government team, organizing intakes, and ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner by collaborating with the project managers. I have lots of experience being in a manager position from Wagner’s restaurant where I am the General Manager to moving up to a student manger position within my first year, for the University of St Thomas Catering division. These roles have allowed me to leverage my strong communication skills to better understand how to lead employees in an efficient and collaborative way. Not only do I have managing experience, but I also have experience in content creation. I was able to create an infographic for a non-profit organization, Mapping Prejudice, I volunteered for to help spread their message of the organization while also encouraging volunteers. This opportunity allowed me to utilize my marketing skills to build awareness around an organization that is doing good work in my community. I also completed an internship for the Opus College of Business where I worked on a team responsible for developing a net new marketing strategy for starting an Instagram page that was geared toward current and incoming UST students.
