About The Role
The Business Development Manager at Ingredient will play a vital role in not only building revenue but cultivating relationships with potential clients, partners and the community. What You’ll Do:
Business Development – 65% of time
Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of business development, including
prospecting for new leads
setting up new business meetings
preparing presentations including capabilities, case studies and client testimonials
generating new business briefs and filling out the new business scorecard for involved stakeholders
Leading the proposal generation process in collaboration with department heads through close of sale and successful onboarding of new clients
Writing clear, detailed proposals for prospective clients.
Working with the director of project management to forecast team resources for each project proposal
Collaborating with team leads and project management to estimate proposals that meet our revenue requirements and targets, for final approval by leadership
Providing regular reporting to leadership on opportunities, progress, and needs
Collaborate with team members including Ingredient leadership throughout the new business process to leverage their expertise and keep them informed and engaged in helping to understand the client’s needs and how best we can serve them. Recommend process improvements to streamline activities and decision-making.
Manage and maintain the Ingredient CRM
Marketing – 30% of time
Share your POV and identify marketing needs to support Ingredient’s business development efforts.
Share new ideas related to our business based on marketing and culinary trends that will help us continuously improve our business development practice.
Serve as the point person for our public relations agency; fielding inquiries to the appropriate team members and collaborating with leadership to respond in a timely and thoughtful manner
Other various marketing duties as assigned, such as applying for awards, hosting events in our space, and/or seeking out potential partners or sponsorships that have the potential to raise our visibility and enhance our brand.
Collaborate with the vice president of content marketing and other Ingredient leadership team members to establish Ingredient’s general point of view for our agency marketing that will help position our brand appropriately and support the business development effort. Share general thoughts about how our internal content creation and planning can best support new business initiatives.
Other – 5% of time
Network in the food industry and marketing industry to represent Ingredient
Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, thought leadership and partnerships that enhance and expand our business.
Identify opportunities to submit for industry awards and recognition
