About The Role


The Director of Development Managed Services oversees the vision and growth of our Development Managed Services team. This department establishes long-term relationships with agency partners and end clients for websites and applications, from the point of launch to deprecation. Both fjorge-built and inherited accounts are eligible for Managed Services offerings, which include hosting, emergency on-call support, systems administration, maintenance, continuous development, and technical SEO services.

The ideal candidate has strong business acumen, diligent department budget and stakeholder management skills, prior experience in the web development space, a keen ability to relate to others, and can lead a technical team without needing to have all the technical answers.

This person will lead and manage a group of direct reports — providing clear direction and opportunities for growth. They understand the company vision and they’re able to rally the division around shared goals. They will provide the necessary tools for their team to be successful and engaged in the work.


The Director oversees the retainer portfolio and owns the billing agreements for the division. They’re tapped into all areas of their business and effectively manage revenue, cost of goods sold, and expenses to meet forecasted P&L results.


This leader owns and champions the Managed Services Core Process. They are purposeful in creating alignment across the division through effective scorecard metrics. They are consistently evaluating client satisfaction and adjusting processes where needed to better support our team and client relationships. The Director instills a culture of teamwork, service excellence, and ownership for resolving customer issues.


The Director will support cross functional internal stakeholders on new account acquisition efforts. They are excellent with resourcing, managing, and organizing staff to ensure appropriate coverage to meet business needs and deliver a great client experience. They manage and strategically grow our service offerings to meet evolving client needs.


• Demonstrated experience overseeing retainer-based software engineering or client retention programs relating to technical or marketing industries
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to delegate and manage multiple priorities while fostering positive client relationships
• Demonstrated ability to identify, articulate, and prioritize implementation of strategic objectives for a department
• Ability to lead employees through professional development, improvement, and career growth
• Strong risk identification and remediation skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing scope and resource situations


The Director of Development Managed Services will report to the Integrator.

Target range for this position is $105-115k annually, with potential for bonus.

We work three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) in our downtown Minneapolis office (affectionately known as the Bob Dylan Building).
