The Finance Project Manager will support the Finance and Accounting department by managing departmental projects that ensure the highest integrity of Walker’s financial systems, including the oversight of all new system integrations. Additionally, this role will support the processing of income and expense transactions, with an emphasis on superb accuracy and attention to detail, and process improvement and automation.

What you get to do
Proactively identifies and solves or elevates accounting or financial systems issues related to purchasing, expenses, and financial systems.
Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge and expertise on core financial system components to drive system integration processes
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Formulate reports within Walker’s various financial accounting systems.
Balance big-picture business goals and long-term integration projects with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
Support design and execution of the implementation process, including business requirement gathering, process documentation, and solutions design.
Implement change management strategies, ensuring stakeholders and teams are trained and adjusted to the new process.
Process routine accounts payable transactions and execute them in a highly ethical, transparent, timely, and accurate way.
Manage multiple initiatives combined with the ability to execute tactical project-level tasks.
Drive projects forward effectively, even under ambiguous circumstances with limited information.
Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Excellent communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets, and able to translate between technical and non-technical concepts.
Maintain knowledge of changing industry standards and emerging technologies and methods.

Minimum Requirements
5+ years of project management experience across a project lifecycle, or equivalent combination of education and experience (strategy>planning>execution) in finance/accounting, operations, or financial systems.
Demonstrated skills and experience in the fundamentals of accounting.
Experience with non-profit fund accounting, Concur, Sage Intacct or equivalent financial accounting system, Tessitura, and BI360 preferred, or demonstrated experience learning systems quickly and comprehensively.

Preferred Experience
Demonstrated ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems and motivate others while maintaining effective relationships by meeting or exceeding requirements and expectations.
Superb ability to manage complex, multi-stage projects through to completion.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to build functional and technical subject matter expertise, process and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes.
Collaborative team player who also takes pride and deep responsibility for excellent individual work.
Strong technical aptitude, quickly acquiring knowledge and skill to be an SME for technological tools.

Excellent verbal and written skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to translate technical specifications into functional goals in a financial systems integration team environment.

Job Specifications
This position is considered full-time, exempt. As an exempt position, it is not eligible for overtime pay. The minimum compensation for this role is $55,000 annually. The Walker offers a wide range of benefits for both part-time and full-time employees.
This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
