The Graphic Designer first and foremost is a skilled designer. They are responsible for creating bold designs on a daily basis. They can take direction and run with it. They can be provided the seed of an idea and then blow it out into various touch points while keeping a stunning and consistent look. They have a solid design portfolio and the ability to work efficiently.
A successful candidate is able to become intimately familiar with the design aesthetic for multiple clients while working within brand standards. They’ll bring solutions to the table, be open to feedback, and be able to refine and enhance the ideas of other team members. *Basic client-facing ability, representing the agency with confidence and professionalism when called upon
*Positive approach to work through tight timelines and challenges
*Understanding of creative’s role in the client’s business…how does our work help achieve client goals with great focus
*Mastery of tactical, executional details for each client you touch
*Ability to create/follow brand standards guides for each client
*Attention to details, minimal errors
*Champion of consistency to reduce scattered visual messaging
*Comfort in all forms of media, both digital and traditional
*Immersion in client’s business – knowing your “stuff” means knowing the client’s business and especially, their audiences
*Maintain an understanding of best-in-class creative being done by agencies and brands you admire, to help elevate the work we do
*An associate (2 year) degree or bachelor (4 year) degree (preferred).
*Three to five years of related work experience, preferably in an advertising agency, design studio or internal creative department.
*Strong computer skills, with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite. Specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. A working knowledge of Google’s suite of programs will be an advantage.
*Portfolio that shows a strong grasp of digital, social and print workspaces.
