Who we’re looking for:

ICF Next is looking for a group of brilliant, hardworking college students or recent graduates to join our team over the summer. If you’re planning a career in strategy, account management, public relations, technology or creative services, this is your opportunity to get your foot in the door.

Our summer internship program includes the opportunity to work on real brands. ICF Next interns have the responsibility of managing their own client project throughout the summer, culminating with both client and agency presentations. But don’t let that intimidate you, we provide crash-course training on agency disciplines and will help you further practice your skills.

Application process:

  • Video Rules:
    • We want to give you a chance to introduce yourselves on screen with your “elevator pitch”: a perfect piece of persuasion, delivered in under a minute. The challenge is to deliver a pitch we can’t ignore.
    • No longer than 60 seconds
    • Must be uploaded to a video-sharing website (i.e., YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc.) via a public link with no password

 We are looking for interns in the following groups:


ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Good fit for people who are: “People” people, excellent communicators, go -getters, problem solvers
  • Typical degrees: Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Business
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Research clients and their communities: trends, case studies, competitive information
    • Support Account Executives in client communications, conference reports, status reports, timelines, billing
    • Prepare for and follow up on client meetings
    • Build and nurture productive relationships across all ICF Next disciplines
    • Assist in preparation of campaign proposals and budgets

 ANALYTICS

  • Good fit for people who: Enjoy problem solving, challenging themselves, learning new things, digging into data to help others make fact-based decisions, and can use data to tell a story
  • Typical degrees: Analytics, Statistics, Math, Economics
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Use statistical software (R, Python, SAS or SQL Server) to explore data, discover the story, and create powerful visual to articulate it to clients
    • Use analytic and statistical techniques to help clients focus on members that will drive key results for them
    • Help monitor, track and present results of client initiatives
    • Work closely with client services and other analytic team members to help achieve client goals

COPYWRITING

  • Good fit for people who are: Master wordsmiths, creators of inspired concepts
  • Typical degrees: Creative Writing, Advertising, or similar, complete with a portfolio
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Brainstorm ideas and concepts with ICF Next teams
    • Transform concepts into effective, brand-activating communication
    • Craft inspiring copy for print, digital, and broadcast ads

DESIGN

  • Good fit for people who are: Original, innovative, organized, visually stimulated
  • Typical Degrees: Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Advertising, complete with a portfolio
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Provide design support and thinking in authoring presentations, briefs, POVs and other strategic documents
    • Contribute well developed ideas during brainstorms and conceptual meetings
    • Generate story boards which outline your ideas
    • Work with Creative Leads and Project Managers to develop a wide variety of online, video and multimedia projects

FRONT-END DEVELOPMENT

  • Good fit for people who are: Tech savvy, interested in how technology works, always trying the newest thing
  • Typical degrees: Computer Science, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Communications
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Develop rich front-end web applications
    • Participate in all levels of the development lifecycle, including direct client interaction
    • Ability to collaborate and work in an agile team environment
    • Consult with client and team members on technical design approaches

PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • Good fit for people who are: Great writers, “people” people, strategic, go-getters
  • Typical degrees: Public Relations, Journalism, Communications
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Assist in developing, writing and distributing press releases
    • Assist in the planning and execution of promotional events
    • Research trends and seek opportunities where our clients may find increased visibility
    • Track clients’ coverage in the press and through our PR efforts
    • Collaborate with the PR team and all disciplines within the agency to produce effective and results-oriented campaigns

SOCIAL AND EMERGING MEDIA

  • Good fit for people who: Eat sleep and breathe social media, creative, students of pop culture
  • Typical degrees: Communications, Public Relations, Journalism
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Monitor online brand conversations through social listening tools
    • Manage client social media, including strategy, content planning, and execution
    • Measure and report campaign results, make recommendations for optimization

STRATEGY, BRAND

  • Good fit for people who are: Innovative, curious, insightful, students of pop culture, excellent writers and presenters
  • Typical degrees: Sociology, Anthropology, Advertising, Journalism
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Unearth thoughtful and actionable insights on brands and their communities
    • Build trusting relationships with clients
    • Develop creative, strategic, brand positioning
    • Provide thought leadership on how our world is changing
    • Work closely with holistic teams, especially account and creative staff, to turn brand strategies into realities

STRATEGY, LOYALTY

  • Good fit for people who are: Innovative, curious, insightful, trend seekers, critical thinkers, excellent writers and presenters
  • Typical degrees: Marketing, Sociology, Anthropology, Advertising, Journalism
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Unearth thoughtful and actionable insights on brands and their communities
    • Conduct competitive analyses of loyalty programs and customer relationship management (CRM) strategies for our clients across key industries, such as travel & hospitality, retail and restaurants
    • Research the latest trends impacting consumer behavior, loyalty program design and customer experience
    • Contribute ideas and insights to help the strategy, analytics and client service teams create innovative loyalty program strategies and designs that are creative, targeted, measurable and deliver positive results for our clients
    • Provide thought leadership by contributing content to our internal searchable database for insights, trends and marketing results

STRATEGY, MEDIA

  • Good fit for people who are: Analytical, strategic, creative
  • Typical degrees: Advertising, Marketing, Business
  • What you’ll get to do:
    • Think creatively about media with the understanding that media is more than a numbers game
    • Assist in all stages of the media planning process, including evaluating media opportunities across all media types, buying media space, stewarding buys to ensure flawless execution and providing recaps for clients
    • Research, including obtaining contacts and calling media to obtain information, meeting with media representatives and obtaining industry-specific information
    • Compile and interpret media data and statistics

Education and minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Previous agency experience, including internships, desired
