The mission of Visit Saint Paul is to market the greater Saint Paul area to out-of-town
convention & leisure visitors, advocate for visitor needs and link the community with visitors.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with Visit Saint Paul’s overall
marketing, social media and partner event strategies. Additional areas of responsibility
include managing the partner database and online event calendar, coordinating e-mail
marketing, assisting with reporting and providing support to Saint Paul’s hospitality
community.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Reporting to the Marketing & Partnership Director, this position will be responsible for the
following:

Marketing & Communication
– Manage and consistently update the online event calendar at VisitSaintPaul.com
– Gathers and verifies information for organization’s publications, e-newsletters, forms,
website, flyers and other related written and printed materials.
– Create and disseminate e-newsletters (Go List, Dine Saint Paul, Insider and Partner
communications) and manage corresponding distribution lists
– Support the Social Media & Content Specialist in community management for Visit
Saint Paul’s social media channels and assisting in content creation
– Manages promotions and contests, including coordination of prizes, selecting winners
and keeping detailed records of each giveaway and corresponding value.
– Works closely with the Marketing & Partnership Director to ensure VSP’s design
elements are integrated into all collateral/digital outlets and consistently kept
updated.
– Create and distribute media alerts as requested.

Events
– Coordinate and manage partner events. Includes site selection, program coordination,
distributing invites, managing RSVPs, creating name tags and managing on-site
logistics. Implement new events to achieve partnership goals
– Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of signature events including
Annual Meeting, Taste of Saint Paul and National Travel & Tourism Week.

Administrative
– Produce reports related to web traffic, social media and marketing results
– Onboard new partners, including management of partnership database and partner
webpages
– Assist in the execution of Visit Saint Paul’s annual marketing plan
– Assist in trend monitoring and best practices related to tourism marketing
– Assists with special projects and administrative duties as needed.
– Assist with visitor guide distribution and visitor information
– Other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:
– Assist with website development and updates.
– Provide assistance during Visit Saint Paul and tourism related events.
– Represent Visit Saint Paul at community meetings and member-sponsored events
as needed.
– Support the growth, development and retention of Visit Saint Paul partners.

THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE…
● Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
● Exceptional communication skills, including strong writing skills, with the ability to
write for a variety of audiences
● Familiarity with a variety of software programs, with the ability to learn company CRM,
CMS and other digital tools
○ Proficiency or desire to learn: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Canva, Emma
● Experience using a wide range of social media channels, including Instagram,
Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group
of individuals and groups, including staff and partners
● Demonstrated personal integrity and sense of responsibility along with a positive
work attitude
● Desire to take initiative, creatively tackle challenges and launch new ideas
● Exceptional attention to detail and personal accountability
● Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting
● Ability to set and meet deadlines and manage multiple projects with limited
supervision
● A commitment to providing superior customer service with the ability to resolve issues
in a professional manner
● Knowledge of tourism and hospitality industry is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
● $47,500/year, full-time exempt, salaried.
● Paid/Partial Paid Benefits include, health care, dental, short term disability and long
term disability coverage; vacation and PTO accrual; 12 paid holidays per year; 401K
