The BrandLab overview:

The BrandLab (TBL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Minneapolis, MN that is connecting upcoming talent in the Twin Cities to creative jobs in the marketing industry. Since 2009, the marketing and advertising industry in the Twin Cities has been actively working towards becoming a more equitable industry. By partnering with the industry, TBL works by connecting young people from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds to opportunities in the creative and marketing space. TBL’s office changes each year to a different Minneapolis-based agency; currently, TBL is located at ICF Next and will be located at Ovative Group in 2020.


Program Coordinator overview:

This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented, communicative and collaborative position for a talented individual to support the Internship Manager in executing many aspects of classroom and internship programming. The Internship and Classroom programs inspire and expose talented youth to a viable and impactful career path.  As part of a small nonprofit organization, the Program Coordinator has the opportunity to collaborate with staff, schools, volunteers, and the industry to assist in executing, event planning, and programming. The BrandLab is looking for someone with a passion for its mission and a love of teaching, learning, and building. 


The Program Coordinator will report directly to the Internship Manager and will collaborate with other team members to ensure the high quality of all TBL programs. TBL is a small team with a mighty reach; all members of the team support and collaborate. 


Main job responsibilities:

Classroom Program (September - March)

  • Work with high school and community programs across the Twin Cities to facilitate The BrandLab classroom curriculum and recruit summer internship applicants. 
  • Manage internship applications as they are received and assist in scheduling interviews.
  • Engage and build relationships with students served.  
  • Evaluate student participation and engagement in the curriculum to identify gaps and provide feedback to the Internship Manager.
  • Maintain a record-keeping system for student and classroom partner data.
  • Maintain Salesforce with classroom volunteer data and contact info.  
  • Execute communication strategy with interested/hired interns during the school year.  


Internship Program (April-August)

  • Assist in the execution of Internship summer programming including communication, data collection, direct service, and planning. Actively participate in programming to gain an understanding of programs and goals.  
  • Assist with all Internship programming communication. 
  • Manage intern communication with the goal of keeping them up to date and informed about program activities, answering questions, explaining process and procedures, notifying students of deadlines and upcoming opportunities through email, text messaging and phone calls as appropriate.  
  • Maintain a record-keeping system with intern data and contact info that tracks the hiring process, internship onboarding, attendance, etc. 




  • Training/facilitation experience
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbally
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Passion for supporting equity for youth
  • Experience working with/advocating for diverse populations
  • Experience being involved with a nonprofit/cause
  • Reliable access to transportation and may require physical movement and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds


Additional Preferred skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress and experience with a nonprofit/cause
  • Experience in data collection
  • Strong tech skills in Google Suite
  • Experience and knowledge of the marketing industry
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a team



This is a part-time, hourly position with the following benefits:

  • $18 - $20 per hour depending on qualifications
  • 15-20 hours per week
  • Flexible work schedule, work locations, and paid holidays
  • Mileage reimbursement
