About The Role

MKR is looking for our next Senior Account Director to develop marketing strategies for key accounts by proactively identifying opportunities to solve client problems through agency services. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with the ability to be both persuasive with and helpful to internal and external teams.

As a Sr. Account Director you’ll function as a mentor, advisor and guide for the account management team in the pursuit of building and then meeting client objectives.

This role is expected to quickly absorb our clients’ business and become intimately familiar with the factors that drive our clients toward success. The Sr. Account Director proactively identifies opportunities to grow relationships with our clients by helping them solve their problems, and ensuring the agency is appropriately and profitably compensated for those solutions. *Works in collaboration with CSO, Account Lead, MarTech and Creative Leads to develop and champion marketing strategies and make recommendations aligned with brand objectives Acts as agency lead on cross-agency integrated marketing programs, by participating in multi-agency briefs and work sessions, developing and delivering the overall strategy ultimately pitching campaign plans. Provides senior account leadership with minimal guidance, supported by the senior management team
*Develops strong partnership with account lead in order to provide effective, ongoing, strategic planning and consultation with key clients
*Utilizes client input and data to develop brand positioning and differentiation strategies, audience personas and marketing channel mapping for various audience segments
*Impacts day-to-day agency work so as to maximize value by maximizing marketing potential for clients
*Attends key client meetings, market research and thought-leadership meetings providing strategic points of view interfacing with very high-level client contacts such as the Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Marketing
*Deeply understands clients’ culture, needs and opportunities so as to add maximum value
*Helps to create optimal client-agency relationship allowing MKR to provide highest value guidance to our clients
*Supports development of the account management team, leading by example so they are better equipped to move up to the next level of client management
*Defines success in terms of the whole team; empowering others, shares ownership and visibility
*Stays current with industry news and competitive environment to continually expand knowledge
*Serve as a new business resource and actively pursue new revenue sources as well as participate in the strategic development of new business such as RFP responses and proposal writing
*Seen by the client as the main advocate within MKR; seen by colleagues as the main advocate when interacting with clients
*Brings enthusiasm to work every day, along with perspective

*Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
*Minimum 7 years in the industry with significant agency experience in strategy and account management.
*Demonstrated experience leading large strategic engagements with complex client organizations.
*Experience planning for various audience segments across a variety of marketing channels.
*Aptitude to define solutions that will generate measurable results for the client.
*Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
*Ability to deal with challenges involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Comfort with — and demonstrated ability to manage — complexity.
*Proven negotiation skills experience, especially contract negotiations, with both clients and partners.
*Excellent public speaking skills and experience.
*Knowledge of quality assurance process.
*Ability to develop strong relationships with clients by gaining trust and repeated successful delivery of expectations.
*Thorough knowledge of the principles of advertising, marketing and media. A basic knowledge of disciplines underlying these principles, i.e., psychology, economics, journalism.
*Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small- and large-group situations to customers, clients, members of senior management, prospective clients and other employees of both the agency and the client organization.
*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Personal computer proficiency, including G Suite.
