About The Role
OVERVIEW
As video editor you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, motion graphics and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the creative campaign or deliverable. As video editor, you should have a high level of knowledge within modern video editing techniques, software and be able to visualize directional concepts and work according to timing, often having multiple projects and workstreams. Ultimately, crafting best in class deliverables for digital, broadcast, social and many other media types.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Assembling footage and transferring or uploading to a computer or server.
Following a script, storyboard or outline
Inputting sound, motion graphics and visual enhancements to footage, which may include selecting music and editing voice-overs.
Apple/Mac proficient with excellence in the Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc). Knowledge and strong motion effects competency.
Improving and correcting lighting, coloring and faulty footage.
Working closely with creative team to present a final product that matches the overall vision.
Ensuring brand identity and message consistency across channels.
Meeting client objectives, values, budgets, and deadlines.
Keeping up with the latest trends, strategies, and technologies.
Understanding the multiple outputs, different exports and timing restrictions for placements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Agency experience a plus. Digital experience an added plus.
Portfolio/Body of work examples.
ROLE COMPETENCIES
Extensive knowledge of the post-production process for video and animation.
Experience in a variety of production formats (actor vs documentary, livestream, remote, commercial, motion, social vs. broadcast etc). 3D experience is a plus, not required.
Excellent communication skills (direction, pitches, proposals, calls).
Great organizational skills (scheduling, timelines, project management).
Ability to take and follow direction, while also having a creative eye for improvements
