The BrandLab Announces New Leaders

Co-Executive Directors Will Take Over for Departing CEO Kelli Williams

MINNEAPOLIS, June 23, 2025 — Michaela Clubb and Ken Lawrence have been named Co-Executive Directors of The BrandLab. They are taking over as leaders of the marketing and advertising nonprofit as CEO Kelli Williams steps away on June 30.

Clubb will focus on all programs as Co-Executive Director. She has been with The BrandLab for nearly 5 years and is responsible for driving incredible impact and growth. Her dedication, strategic vision and passion for the nonprofit’s mission have been truly inspiring.

“As we step into a model of collective leadership for The BrandLab, I’m energized by the possibilities ahead and by leading alongside Ken Lawrence,” said Clubb. “We’re building on our strong foundation while exploring new ways of being, always keeping program excellence at the center of everything we do.”

Lawrence will concentrate on development and growth in his role as Co-Executive Director. He rejoins The BrandLab after nearly six years away. He previously served as the nonprofit’s Associate Director of Programs & Partnerships, where his leadership drove meaningful change.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be rejoining The BrandLab,” said Lawrence. “I’m deeply passionate about the mission of this organization. With the help of staff, volunteers, partners and donors, we’ve done incredibly impactful work, and I’m excited about the possibilities in front of us as Michaela and I lead this team into the future.”

The BrandLab remains committed to creating a more inclusive marketing and advertising workforce that truly reflects the world we live in. This work is more important than it’s ever been in an increasingly polarized landscape. Programming allows young professionals to break barriers and receive exposure, access, inclusion and opportunity within the marketing and advertising profession.
