Spark Workshops for Students
The BrandLab hosts workshops at local high schools where students are introduced to the marketing and advertising industry and skills like brainstorming, problem-solving and creativity. Talk to your teacher, career counselor, or program manager about bringing The BrandLab Spark Workshops to your school!

We connect college-level students to the world of marketing and advertising through paid summer internships at agencies and companies in the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, and Kansas City. Throughout this 10-week program, interns receive intensive training and coaching led by industry professionals to support and guide their career path.

Alyssa Abilo
Content Strategy Advisor at Thomson Reuters
Alyssa grew up in the Twin Cities and attended Robbinsdale Cooper High School where she took The BrandLab course through her business marketing class. After completing several internships in the marketing and advertising industry and graduating with a degree in Advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, she's now a Content Strategy Advisor at Thomson Reuters and a member of The BrandLab National Board of Directors.
Ri'Auzzia Watson-Miller
Alumni Intern
Ri'Auzzia is a Kansas City, Kansas native and met The BrandLab during a Spark Workshop at a local ad agency. As a multi-year alumnus, she's interned at Fleishman Hillard, Intouch, Hallmark, and HR Block. She's worked in many areas of advertising like account management, creative design, and public relations. She is currently a student at The University of Kansas - Class of 2023.
Andrea Obieta
eCommerce Specialist at Jack Link’s
Since joining The BrandLab in 2018, Andrea says she's gained a sense of confidence and discovered new goals for herself. As a first-generation Latina college student, she appreciates being part of The BrandLab's support system that allows her to explore different career opportunities. Andrea currently serves as a eCommerce Specialist at Jack Link’s and is a member of the College + Beyond Board.

Enter The BrandLab. Our program begins in the high school classroom where students are exposed to the idea of a creative career. From there, interested and eligible students are encouraged to apply for our paid summer internship program, which is all about getting into the workplace, understanding the marketing process, and growing 21st-century skills. Interns receive intensive training and coaching led by industry professionals to support and guide their career path. Interns who complete the summer become BrandLab alumni and continue to build their professional network and gain access to special scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and training.
